1. A searchable database of venues which gets added to every week.
Once logged in a search box will appear at the top right of every page. Just search for a venue, if it is listed on the site you will see all the info you will need to be ready for your gig. If it is not listed then please take 5 mins to submit it when you do the gig, this will help other acts in the future.
2. All the details you will need to know what to expect when you get to the gig.
3. Reviews on the venues left by other acts.
4. Advanced warning of those venues that are hard to find and clear instructions that rarely come on confirmation sheets.
5. A gig contract wizard to quickly create contracts for direct gigs.
What information is included on each venue?
Who provides all this info?
Our members do and we hope you will too. Here's the thing we all get to a venue, set up then spend one to two hours twiddling our thumbs while we wait for the first spot. It takes literally 5 minutes to gather enough info to add a venue to our site, there is a simple form in the member's area you can use. Most of our members do all this on their phones when at the gig.
After you have set up and sound checked, go back to your car, fire up your video on your phone and walk us into the venue so we can see how far you carried your gear, show us the stage, the room size, the dressing room, give us a little guided tour have fun with your commentary and upload the video after you fill out the add a venue form.
Then when you get home log back in and add a little review of the venue and how your gig went so that other acts can share your experience.
What areas do you cover when it comes to venues?
We are hoping to cover the WHOLE UK. This again depends on you and our other members. The more members we have all over the country the more venues we can document and the more useful the site gets.
PLEASE feel free to invite as many other entertainers to our site as you can. This also helps us keep costs down.
Is there a charge for membership?
Not right now and we hope we can keep it that way, that said......
You may have noticed how nice and fast our site is, that is because it is a pro website hosted on business web servers.
We also host all the videos of the venues on Vimeo mainly because the quality is so much better than Youtube and there are no annoying ads in the videos, this also costs us on a monthly basis and that cost will continue to increase the more videos and venues we add.
Here's what we ask
If you grab a free membership please help us build the site by submitting the venues you work in, remember the idea of this site is for us all to help each other. The more venues and acts we have the more useful this site gets. It takes just minutes to shoot a little video on your phone or take a few photos an then fill out our "add a venue" form.
If you are one of those generous souls that really want to help, you can buy a 3-year sponsors membership for £10 this will help us pay for and more importantly promote the site. We will give you a big mention in the members' area on our sponsors' page too.
It is entirely up to you, we will keep this optional for as long as we possibly can. If it ever gets out of hand we may ask for voluntary donations.
